Inner City Cultural Center’s Annual Fall Celebration and Mixer

Each year on November 4, the Los Angeles Inner City Cultural Center celebrates the birthday of their co-founder C. Bernard Jackson. Their 59th anniversary Fall Celebration this year will be a networking mixer, with entertainment, refreshments, and a no-host beer & wine bar.

Whether you’re an Inner City alum, a longtime supporter, or someone just discovering them, they invite you to join a night of festivities in support of The Inner City Cultural Center – the place that trained and employed so many for the work they continue to do and love in theatre, the arts and entertainment.

You won’t want to miss this opportunity to share memories, catch up with old friends, and make new ones!

They’ll be documenting the event, so if you have a history with Inner City Cultural Center, they invite you to prepare a 1-2 minute presentation about yourself, your career, and how you were influenced by Inner City Cultural Center. How did you come to Inner City? What memorable event(s) were you involved with — as an actor, production staff, administrator, playwright, technician or stage craftsman, musician, dancer or choreographer?

Your presentation will become part of their Cultural Legacy Project, the permanent home for which will soon be announced. Los Angeles Inner City Cultural Center is also the first West Coast arts organization invited to participate in the Entertainment Community Fund’s Performing Arts Legacy project, where career histories of ICCC alumni are also preserved.

59 years after its founding in August 1965 by C. Bernard Jackson and Dr. J. Alfred Cannon, The Los Angeles Inner City Cultural Center continues to make an impact on the global entertainment community, as well as in the broader context of social justice, diversity, equity and inclusion.

They invite you to visit their website, https://www.innercityculturalcenter.org, for a more comprehensive picture of their history and the many distinguished actors, playwrights, directors, musicians, dancers, and choreographers who have passed through our doors. (Click on the Cultural Legacy tab and in that menu, select “Notable Alumni & Associates.”)

They also invite you to sign up for their mailing list (click on the Contact Us tab) and to support them with your donations (click on the Support Us tab).

Thank you for reading, and we’ll look forward to seeing you on November 4!
