8:00pm: Vroom Vroom by Afrah Aden

Separated by galaxies, Octavia and Princess Ray are teenagers united by their yearning to be seen. Will a human and an alien be able to see the truth in each other? Vroom Vroom is a queer, sci-fi, rom-com play about the lengths one will travel for family, friendship and love.

2pm: Solarpunks by Joie Mitchell

Solarpunks is an Afro-futurist, earth based sci-fi about Black, queer and trans chosen family in a collectivist county of New York. Set in 2061, their utopia is threatened by the imperialist power of a neighboring region that operates in antithesis to their views on technology, sustainability, and the environment. As the solarpunks face displacement, a chosen few embark on a rescue mission to liberate their kin and mend past wounds. An A.I. manifesto with themes of ancestry and transformation, Solarpunks challenges the notion of life as profit and recontextualizes the price of labor.

Audiences will be required to wear masks during the duration of the performances.
