ELATION: A Space for Black Joy – Game Night
Tyree Marshall and Celia Mandela Rivera, in association with Outside In Theatre, present ELATION: A Space for Black Joy – Game Night — a fun-filled gathering of Black folks to experience joy through playing games together.
Join an evening of playing some of the favorite games that we all LOVE, while at the cookout, family reunions, etc.! Come laugh, mingle, and let loose in a space where we can just be. Light refreshments and drinks will be included! AND a special prize for one attendee!
ELATION: A Space For Black Joy, a new event series, was created by Celia Mandela Rivera and Tyree Marshall, both theatremakers and changers in the larger Los Angeles area. Elation was sparked by a conversation in which Tyree and Celia struggled to articulate, “WHAT DOES IT PERSONALLY MEAN TO EXPERIENCE BLACK JOY?”. The first of many curated events, ELATION, is a space where Black folx can just come as they are and find their inner joy but it’s especially meant as a refuge for Los Angeles based artmakers and creators.
