African American Sailors who are recruited by the United States Navy to work in a navy shipyard in Port Chicago, California where dangerous artillery is loaded onto ships to support WWII. Something goes terribly wrong! There is a blast and 320 (of which 202 were Black) were killed. Inspired by true events from 1944.
This dramatic story is told through the eyes of one of the survivors, Freddie Meeks. Come and witness this powerful presentation of Port Chicago 50. It is a story of love for Country, the American Dream and a quest for equality and fairness.
